A guided nature walk with ecologist Robbie Phillips
As the days are drawing in and the seasons are changing, Mother Nature is showing us the magnificence of autumn in Cornwall. From the stunning sunrises and misty mornings to the calls from migrating birds and animals foraging for the winter months ahead, the grounds at Boconnoc are a hive of activity.
We’d love you to join us for a guided walk around the grounds of Boconnoc with bird expert Robbie Philips.
Learn all about the birds that are on their way south and have already left our shores for sunnier climes and the large number of species that will be arriving to the UK to spend their winter here.
“Many of the winter birds will be feeding around the woodland and field edges across the estate and we will wander around and see which birds we can discover.
From the larger Redwing, Fieldfare and Woodcock coming from the far North East of Europe to the smallest European birds the Goldcrest and Firecrest, learn who is going where and how they find their way.”
During this walk our expert Robbie will help you learn the calls that bird make in winter when most aren’t singing and how to identify the key species from their calls. After the walk there will be an opportunity to chat with Robbie over a warming cup of tea or coffee in our Stable yard.
