Renowned for his dramatic floral installations and an eye for colour and detail

Tell us about you. What service do you provide to our lovely couples?

Born and brought up in Cornwall, I spent 23 years in London working for some of the capital’s most high profile floral designers, before setting up my own business and then returning home. I specialise in weddings and events in the South West and London.

What is your favourite thing about working with couples at Boconnoc?

Boconnoc is wonderful because there’s so much scope for creativity. From a traditional church service to an informal ceremony in the Bath House, a barbecue in the stable yard or formal dining in the house, it’s a creatives dream.

What is the best thing about working in the wedding industry?

I’ve always believed that being part of one of the most important days in a couple’s lives is a huge privilege. Creating something beautiful as part of that celebration is absolutely wonderful.

Why do you think Cornwall is such a popular location for weddings?

As a Cornishman I’m biased, but I really do believe you won’t find anywhere more romantic!

How long have you been in the wedding industry?

I’ve been a florist for 29 years.

Tell us about the most memorable wedding you have worked at.

It was a Boconnoc wedding of course! A weekend celebration for a wonderful couple, who trusted me to bring their vision to life.

What is the most unusual/interesting request you have had from a couple?

Being sent a floral design brief with the theme of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon meets Lord of the Rings!!!

What are your favourite trends for this year?

The pantone colour of the year may be living coral, but I’m getting a lot of requests for very traditional white and green. Everything comes full circle, and this classic palette will always be on trend.

Simon will be situated in the Garden Room for our Open House Wedding Event, Saturday 2nd March 2019, 10am – 3pm. We hope to see you there!
