Planning exquisite wedding celebrations for over 13 years
In the lead up to our Open House Wedding Event we are taking a little peak behind the scenes at the people who create the magic. We will be hearing from a few of our recommended suppliers who will be there on the day to chat through any plans and help with any questions you have. Up next in our series of blogs we speak to wedding planner Lester Gethings:
Tell us about you. What service do you provide to our lovely couples?
I provide a tailored full wedding planning and design service. I’ve always believed that a wedding should be a reflection of a couples personalities and tastes, so I pride myself on managing and exceeding my clients’ expectations. My aim is to guide my couples through their planning journey, ensuring it is a relaxed and an enjoyable one.
What is your favourite thing about working with couples at Boconnoc?
I love the flexibility that the estate offers. My couples are usually looking for exclusive use venues that provide plenty of options for their weddings. Boconnoc is perfect because you can create a celebration that really is unique.
What is the best thing about working in the wedding industry?
I work in an industry that celebrates one of life’s most joyous occasions, knowing that a couple trusts me to organise such a momentous event is a great honour.
Why do you think Cornwall is such a popular location for weddings?
Cornwall offers couples the chance to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and create a celebration that is unique to them. It’s also remote enough to extend a wedding into a holiday!
How long have you been in the wedding industry?
I’ve been in the industry for 13 years.
Tell us about the most memorable wedding you have worked at.
A wonderful international celebration for a couple based in the US wanting to get married in the UK, their florist flew over from L.A. and their photographer and videographer from New York.
What is the most unusual/interesting request you have had from a couple?
Hiring diamonds for one of my brides, and arranging a plane seat for a wedding dress from Texas!
What are your favourite trends for this year?
Brides are falling in love with the idea of classic elegance. With so many themes and influences available on social media, I’m seeing a return to a simpler yet very sophisticated style that won’t date.
Lester will be situated in the Garden Room for our Open House Wedding Event, Saturday 2nd March 2019, 10am – 3pm. We hope to see you there!
