Bar Manager

Are you passionate about meeting clients and providing excellent customer service? Would you thrive on managing a bar in a historic venue for a variety of events and weddings?

We are looking for an experienced Bar Manager to join the team at Boconnoc and add value to the experience of the thousands of visitors we have to the estate each year.

We are a small, hands-on team who support each other to live our values; being open and honest and fair in our actions. We challenge the business, ourselves and each other and reflect on what went well, what we can change and where we can improve. We want to keep things real, showing all aspects of the estate from the architecture and the ancient oak trees to the worms and soil. We aim to keep things simple and make sure we have time for playfulness within our roles. All of these things are work in progress and we are looking for like-minded people to join us on our journey.

About Boconnoc:

Boconnoc is a privately owned rural estate, situated near Lostwithiel in East Cornwall. The main house was restored and brought back to life by Anthony and Elizabeth Fortescue and a small team of skilled craftsman between 2000 and 2012 and is now used for private and community events, weddings, retreats and holidays. Holidays and retreats include the opportunity for volunteer work involving anything from picking apples to seed collecting to planting acorns.

There is a kitchen garden onsite which provides fruit and vegetables for events, produce boxes for clients and the onsite shop used by guests. There is woodland, farmland, orchards, a kitchen garden, a dis-used market garden, a Georgian Bathhouse, a water powered sawmill as well as miles of woodland tracks. The opportunities are endless.
