Creating a sanctuary for guests

Do you enjoy working as part of a proactive team? Do you like discussing ideas with your colleagues on how to improve and simplify current systems? Do you like to create standards for guests that make them feel as though they are in a place of sanctuary and calm when they arrive? 

If the answers to the questions above are yes, please do apply to join our small, dedicated and enthusiastic team. We are recruiting two housekeepers and can offer a maximum of 30 hours per week between April and October and a maximum of 15 hours per week from November to March. We are particularly looking for people who are able to work on Sundays.

We are a small hands on team who support each other to live our values; being open and honest and fair in our actions. We challenge the our current systems, ourselves and each other and reflect on what went well, what we can change and where we can improve. We want everyone in the team to have a chance to learn and embrace the estate as well as their role so there is the chance to join one of the nature based events in your first six months, to learn more about the estate.

The role will encompass the following areas:

  • Housekeeping across the properties and spaces available for our guests and team
  • Once monthly deep cleans
  • Changing beds 
  • Housekeeping for guests during their stay
  • Laundry stock checks 
  • Cleaning equipment stock checks 
  • Dusting and polishing delicate furniture and paintings
  • Moving furniture
  • Cleaning paddle boards and bikes for guests to use
  • Clearing storage spaces ready to be rented out to small businesses

Additional opportunities available: 

  • Supporting the bar staff 
  • Waitering for events
  • Selling food and drink during events 
  • Serving tea and coffee during our nature safaris or our creative workshops
  • Car parking duties 

About you:

The Offer: 

  • Hourly pay starting at £10.50 an hour with opportunity for progression
  • Flexability around hours
  • Rotas to be agreed at least 2-4 weeks in advance, or more in advance if preferred
  • 30 hours per week guaranteed between April and October 
  • 15 hours available from November to March 
  • Circuits sessions each week
