Clare’s passion for Boconnoc, its history, surroundings and the Boconnoc Community is evident in the part she has played in making Boconnoc what it is today. Deeply rooted in Cornwall and the natural beauty it offers, she is committed to preserving the environment and the history of Boconnoc as well as promoting the philosophy of sustainability. Helping take Boconnoc into the future, her work in healthcare has given her an understanding of the profound impact that nature has on health and wellbeing. She sees Boconnoc as a place of restoration and renewal.
In her spare time Clare enjoys swimming in the sea and trips around the country in her camper van.
Elizabeth and her late husband Anthony embarked on the ambitious 12 year renovation of Boconnoc House in 2002. One December evening Anthony stopped the car at the top of the drive and shone the lights on the dilapidated Boconnoc House, “One day we will have electricity in the house”. To this day she is still delighted each time the lights come on. Elizabeth continues to run Boconnoc House and the Estate with her two daughters Clare and Sarah. Elizabeth always says this is a house that says, “If you take care of me, I’ll take care of you.”
Elizabeth is passionate about trees and gardens and has a love of the history of the estate.
As an interior designer Sarah’s unique style and vision has brought the properties at Boconnoc to life. Taking inspiration from her time spent between Cornwall and Africa, her eclectic designs are full of vibrancy and colour which has been infused across the main house and cottages on the estate. Sarah has a love of travel, Africa and is inspired hugely by natures palette which is featured across many of her fabrics, wallpaper and interior design.
Colin can often be found out and about on the estate. Colin joined us in May 2022 and is in charge of all of the maintenance within the main house and cottages. He is our first port of call when any issues arise and keeps everything looking ship shape for our guests.
In his spare time he enjoys restoring his motorbike, cooking and making his famous Victoria sponge!
A breath of fresh air, Kay always ensures the extremely high standards we pride ourself in for keeping the house looking top notch. She guarantees that anyone who walks through the door is incredibly well looked after and that not one cushion is out of place. Her homemade cakes are second to none and her pasties – legendary.
In her spare time, Kay enjoys walking with friends and continuing her love of cooking at home.
Sima is a vital cog in the Boconnoc machine that makes everything work day to day. A tireless perfectionist and consummate professional, she will leave no stone unturned to problem solve and ensure the smooth running of the property side of the business.
Outside work she enjoys long dog walks, paddle boarding and her new found love for wood turning.
Louise takes care of all your needs through-out your wedding weekend. Once handover is complete from Emily to Louise, she seamlessly blends into the background, but will always be there when you need her. From arrival at Boconnoc to the last dance, there is no-one who cares more about your day.
When not at Boconnoc Louise loves cooking, walking, wild swimming and a good glass of sauvignon blanc.
Those immaculate lawns and perfectly pruned blooms don’t just manage themselves. Stuart our gardener and all round lovely chap, has an incredibly keen eye for all things green. The vast gardens and grounds require round the year careful management and care which is what Stuart achieves in abundance.
When not being green fingered, he loves walking his three pooches – a springer, cocker and sprocker.
Georgia is working within the team as our Property and Office assistant
At home she enjoys baking and reading crime fiction and is also a self-confessed thrill-seeker.
Our housekeeping team are an integral part of the business and ensure that all of our accommodation is looking immaculate at all times for our guests.
