WEDDING AND HOSPITALITY MANAGER

We are looking for a full-time proactive Wedding and Hospitality Manager with the ambition to build the hospitality business at Boconnoc. 

About Boconnoc

Boconnoc is a family-owned rural estate in south east Cornwall comprising 7000 acres, 70 residential properties, forestry, farms and a hospitality business. The team consists of Head of People and Projects, Property Assistant, Wedding and Events Coordinator, Wedding host, a Housekeeping team of five, Gardener and a Maintenance team of two. We have a part time Land Agent and freelance Marketing Manager.

The estate is profitable and is in a good position to develop the future business portfolio. Business income is derived 31% from let residential, 17% from let agriculture, 38% from hospitality and approaching 10% commercial.  

The aim is to continue growing the opportunities on the estate to create more jobs in the local community and continue bringing the estate to life.

This full-time role requires a proactive individual, with a passion for bringing clients’ dreams to life. The candidate needs excellent communication and negotiation skills, financial acumen, experience in bringing in business and converting enquiries into bookings.

 

Your Role

As the Wedding and Hospitality Manager you will develop and deliver a yearly sales plan with agreed KPIs to increase occupancy rates across the weddings and holiday lets business. You will be responsible for managing the Wedding and Event Coordinator, part time freelance Marketing Manager and Wedding Hosts.

As a Wedding & Hospitality Manager you will be responsible for bringing in new clients and creating exceptional experiences for guests.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of People and Projects to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve and exceed annual budget and KPIs
  • Collaborate with the Head of People and Projects on all decisions relating to weddings and hospitality, including but not limited to pricing strategy, selling strategy, contract negotiations and selection of vendors inline with the Boconnoc brand
  • Identify and pursue new customers through direct contact and collaboration with the Marketing Manager, Wedding and Event Coordinator, online listing agents etc.
  • Leading show rounds for weddings to develop relationships and generate business
  • Analyse and increase conversion rates of weddings and stays
  • Responsible for overseeing customer journey from enquiry through to post client stays
  • Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to fluctuations in the economy or changes to the hospitality market
  • Ensure that operations meet Boconnoc standards at all times
  • Oversee content development and implementation by the Marketing Manager for digital channels, including managing photo shoots, writing blogs for website, SEO, press releases, email, newsletter etc.
  • Monthly reporting on agreed KPIs
  • Responsible for wedding, hospitality and marketing budget
  • Lead training workshops to the team on increasing sales, customer journey and ways to improve the customer experience

 

Experience Required

  • 4 years’ experience in direct sales of weddings and hospitality
  • Managing teams
  • Experience of adapting to changing markets and trends

Package

  • Remuneration package of £36,000 – £45,000 per annum dependent on experience
  • 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays
  • One fitness session a week with the team
  • Office based position
  • Hours – 40 hours per week with overtime if required
  • Working two weekend days per month
  • Lunch Break – 1 hour
