Wedding and Events Manager

Experienced Wedding and Event Manager required to join the Boconnoc Team, an inspiring and forward-thinking wedding and event venue in South East Cornwall.

This is an exciting time to be joining the passionate team at Boconnoc. We are seeking a self-motivated and practical person who is highly professional and experienced in managing and running beautiful weddings and innovative events. Candidates will be experienced in event management with attention to detail and excellent administration and interpersonal skills. This varied and interesting position would suit someone with a passion for seeking out new and original events, whilst building a network of key contacts. In this role, every day is different, from understanding someone’s dream wedding, to meeting with location agents for the next blockbuster or fashion shoot, you will be at the heart of the action.

Duties will include:

• Dealing with wedding and event enquiries including client viewings, follow ups and quotations
• Responsibility for all associated administration and invoicing
• Organising the smooth running of events including staff management of a small team
• Managing accommodation bookings, enquiries and housekeeping standards for main house, holiday cottages and stable yard
• Ensuring health and safety standards are met for all events
• Working with the Marketing Manager to implement social media campaigns
• Dealing with customer feedback under supervision from the marketing manager
• Working with the Marketing Manager on developing and implementing new ideas for key events

• Creative flair whilst understanding the Boconnoc brand
• A professional, friendly, flexible, polite, can-do attitude
• Excellent administration skills
• A minimum of three years’ experience in administration and event operations
• An ability to work under pressure, to take responsibility and manage a busy workload
• An ability to motivate, organise, instruct and delegate
• An ability to take instruction, lead by example, take responsibility and take initiative
• An ability to think on their feet
• A hands-on and practical approach
• An excellent standard of personal presentation
• An accomplished spoken and written style
• Experience in managing and writing budgets for events

Desirable Skills:

• Already has an established network and list of key contacts
• Experience in sales and nurturing potential leads
• Awareness of the wedding industry and relevant media
• Experience or understanding of key trends in lifestyle and events locally and nationally
• Ability to write creatively for blogs, press releases or social media to support the Marketing Manager from time to time

Qualifications required:

• A minimum of three years’ experience within an events co-ordination role
• Educated to degree level or with relevant industry standard qualification
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Strong administration skills

Salary dependant on experience, starting from £23,000.
