FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your wedding day is one of the most special and memorable days of your life and we always try to be as accommodating as possible to make your day unforgettable.  If you have any queries or specific requests, please get in touch with our wedding team who will be happy to help.

We’ve collated a few of our most frequently asked questions below.

We have seating for up to 100 guests in any of our outdoor ceremony locations. A number of our outdoor locations seat up to 240 so additional chairs and marquee cover would need to be hired in in case of inclement weather

We can seat up to 100 people in the Smoking Room of Boconnoc House or the more rustic Coach House in the Stable Yard. Boconnoc Church can seat 170 guests.

Yes absolutely, the church is happy to arrange this and they just ask that you do a residency in the parish in the lead up to your wedding or you can attend services over a period of six months.

In Boconnoc House you can seat up to 100 guests for your wedding breakfast. Alternatively, add a marquee over the Garden Room terrace and you can seat an additional 140 guests therefore taking the total to 240 guests.

Yes, we have included recommendations below, but these are only a guide and the day is yours to plan as you wish:

Wedding ceremony – this will usually last an hour. You are welcome to do this at any time of day – our recommendation is to hold your ceremony between 2pm and 4pm.

Wedding Reception – we suggest 1.5 to 2 hours for weddings of over 60 guests. This allows some leeway if the ceremony runs over and gives your photographer time to capture any wedding photos you want, as well as capturing your guests enjoying drinks and canapés. For smaller weddings we would recommend 1.5 hours.

Wedding Breakfast – if you have a sit down meal your catering team will usually allow 2 hours for starter and main course. Plus an hour for dessert with tea and coffee served at the table or after everyone has moved through to the bar and dance floor.

Speeches – like everything for your wedding it is a very personal decision when you do these, whether you choose to do this before your wedding breakfast, or during the meal. If you choose speeches during the meal your caterers will add this in to their time plans.

Evening Food – the fantastic caterers we work with usually recommend evening snacks or food is served between 9pm and 10.30pm, or when your band or DJ break during their set.

Bar – Closes at midnight and we ask guests to be off site by 12.30pm, however we can offer an extension to 1am.

We can sleep up to 54 people in total.

Accommodation for 40 people is across Boconnoc House (sleeps 18), Dairy House (sleeps 8 with additional sofa bed for 1), Grooms House (sleeps 6 with additional sofa bed for 1), Head Grooms (sleeps 4 with 2 additional sofa beds for 1 in each) for your 1, 2 and 3 night weddings.

We then have an additional property called The Stewardry (sleeps 14) which can be hired in addition.

If you want to charge guests for accommodation we can recommend the approximate rate per room. Doing this helps offset some of the total cost.

Check in for the two of you and your suppliers for set up is 10am. Guests can check into their bedrooms from midday. Check out the day after your wedding is 11am

Check in for your set up is 2pm the day before your wedding. Guests can check in to accommodation from 4pm. Check out is 11am the day after your wedding.

Yes, you can bring in your alcohol for your drinks reception and wedding breakfast. Afterwards your alcohol is stored away and the Boconnoc bar opens. You can either put an amount behind the bar or guests can pay for their own drinks.
