Our guide to the best autumn experiences in Cornwall
Autumn is a beautiful time of year to visit Cornwall. The crowds have subsided, the weather is generally on our side, the light is just stunning and there are plenty of activities to keep everyone occupied. We’ve put together a few ideas of things you can do in Cornwall during the autumn from wild swimming, to pumpkin picking there’s something for everyone.
Wild Swimming
There are a few beautiful and unique spots local to Boconnoc to take a dip, our favourites include:

Pumpkin Picking
Always a great autumnal family favourite, there are a few great places to take the kids to choose your prize pumpkin:
Trevaskis Farm is a little further afield but a good one to visit, keep checking their website for updates on when the pumpkins are ready to pick.
Trevathan Farm near St Endellion always have an impressive display of pumpkins ready for picking as well as a great play area and cafe.
Walking

Local Restaurants
Cornwall is renowned for it’s excellent food scene, so why not venture out to try one of the wonderful eateries local to Boconnoc:
Duchy Nursery has a wonderful cafe and gift shop plus a superb selection of plants.
Fitzroy and North Street Kitchen are both relatively new to the food scene in Fowey but both are equally as delicious and prepare dishes using the best of local produce.
Appleton’s also in Fowey have a beautiful restaurant and bar dishing up some outstanding food which looks almost too good to eat! Head chef Andy takes a lot of inspiration from Italian cuisine so expect expertly made fresh pasta and risottos.
Springtide is Charlestown’s newest restaurant and also sister restaurant to the Longstore which is equally as good. Springtide serves delicious seafood dishes whereas the Longstore offers a choice of locally sourced steaks, decadent burgers and seafood too.

Festivals
St Ives Food and Drink Festival is back this year in the spectacular setting of St Ives which was home to the G7 this summer.
Truro Food Festival will be running this year including a whole host of demos and local food traders.
The Mevagissey Shanty Festival is perfect for soaking up the sweet sounds of the traditional shanty in a picturesque coastal fishing village.
Ever so slightly nudging into Christmas, but if you are staying towards the end of November do not miss the Fowey Christmas Market.
