Unwind, relax and breathe in the fresh air

Have you ever wanted to escape to your very own Cornish country manor? Well, now you have the opportunity to do just that. Boconnoc House is available to rent out for holidays or gatherings for up to 18 people. The whole house will be exclusively yours for a minimum of two nights, with use of the vast grounds and facilities including a tennis court.

After 12 years of dedicated refurbishment, Boconnoc now represents the heights of Cornish luxury. With its Georgian architecture and picture-perfect countryside, it captures all the enchantment and beauty of Cornwall. Stately, yet homely, it is the perfect place for those looking to ‘get away from it all’ and slow down in a unique and beautiful environment. Boconnoc’s story begins hundreds of years ago. Since the days of the Domesday Book, people have inhabited this beautiful tract of Cornwall—and the estate itself is alive with centuries of history. Tucked down two miles of private drive, as soon as you enter Boconnoc, you are transported to another world; a world of tranquility, peace and breath-taking scenery. Ancient trees inhabit the vast corners of the estate, whilst the gardens burst with extraordinary blooms. Boconnoc House sits in the heart of the estate. This Georgian country house is surrounded by rolling countryside and immaculate lawns, perfect for sundowners whilst listening to the bird song and the trees swaying in the gentle breeze.

The contemporary and inspiring interiors are designed by Sarah Fortescue, daughter of the owner, who sells her pieces should you wish to take a bit of Boconnoc home with you. Perfect for family and friends, the house comprises two double en-suite rooms, four double rooms and three twin rooms with their own bathrooms. Enjoy breakfast on the terrace with views across the park, or unwind in the Drawing Room with a drink before dinner in the Smoking Room in front of the roaring open fire. In the House you will find beautiful light and airy receptions rooms and log fires which are perfect for cosy winter evenings. Upstairs in the grand library and gallery why not set up your own film night with our in-house projector.

For parties over 18, the Stable Yard has an additional three charming cottages; The Dairy House (sleeps eight), the Grooms Cottage (sleeps six) and the Head Grooms Cottage (sleeps four). Each have their own distinct character and have also been beautifully designed by Sarah Fortescue.

Boconnoc has a varied list of expert local caterers and private chefs who can accommodate your every requirement, as well as endless unique dinner settings including the 18th Century Bath House. Or perhaps you would like to release your inner Jamie Oliver, cooking up a storm for your loved ones in the Tower kitchen to serve a banquet fit for a king on the long mahogany table in the Smoking Room by candlelight.

Towards the south of the estate you’ll find the Deer Park, home to 120 fallow deer, who since the days of the Domesday Book have nibbled on the park’s lush grass. Just next door sits Boconnoc’s cricket pitch and pretty pavilion which in the summer months hosts regular weekend matches. A few steps from the house, Boconnoc is also lucky enough to have its own historic church, with a regular Sunday service.

Why not immerse yourself in one of the countless activities available during your stay at this idyllic Cornish country estate. Take a stroll around the grounds and discover the many walks on your doorstep. Take a picnic to the lake and loose an afternoon watching the world go by, listening to the stream running through the valley and the hum of wildlife around you. Along the Stewardry Walk you’ll find the tennis court, so why not start a tournament for a bit of healthy competition.
