A new take on a Cornish holiday: A private estate experience at Boconnoc…

Cornwall is a beautiful part of the UK and often the first choice for a staycation. Stunning coastline walks, surfing, sailing, and cosy coastal cottage rentals are the usual combination. But for a new take on a Cornish holiday, a private estate experience at Boconnoc offers a fresh look at a staycation classic. Only eight miles from stunning coastline, you’ll find Boconnoc, where you can enjoy Cornwall at its best while staying away from the crowds. You can spend long days discovering the local area before returning to your tranquil Boconnoc bubble, that’s if you even want to leave to begin with.

You’ll come across a multitude of things to do during your stay at Boconnoc, including a lake, a tennis court, an organic kitchen garden where guests can harvest dinner ingredients, a games room, bikes and SUPs. There are pizza ovens and BBQs to cook up a storm before dining al-fresco, a deer park to explore, apples to harvest, a stream-front rustic outdoor kitchen and dining area, plus walks in abundance. The entire estate will be yours, and with a maximum capacity of 50 people, the fight for seaside car parking spots will be forgotten when you head back towards Boconnoc down the two-mile private drive through the idyllic Cornish countryside.

These aren’t your run-of-the-mill Cornish holiday cottages, even though the price might be the same. All are designed by renowned interior designer Sarah Fortescue. Expect deeply comfortable beds, cocooning sofas, and high-end soft furnishings. The natural environment around the estate is reflected throughout the interiors, resulting in a luxurious home-from-home feeling.

Boconnoc offers a proper Cornish holiday from the hustle and bustle of everyday life; get away from it all, hit pause, and leave feeling recharged and reconnected. All accommodation is offered on a self-catering basis; get your supermarket shop delivered or make the most of local Cornish produce to create your own delicious dinners, or the team at Boconnoc can recommend a private chef, depending on your preference.

You can choose from five dog-friendly self-catering rental options within the private estate grounds. Nestled next to the Stable Yard complex are three cottages; drink in the beautiful scenery from the vantage point of the Dairy House for up to eight people.

The Head Groom’s House, which sleeps four, exudes a warming ambience with its eclectic interiors, making it ideal for those looking to enjoy a cosy cottage within peaceful surroundings. The Groom’s House is slightly larger, sleeping six and pairs endearing nooks and crannies with a light and airy open-plan design. All are a stone’s throw from the Dorothy Garden, where you can read the afternoon away to the sound of a fountain.

For larger groups, there is Boconnoc House, the Georgian treasure set at the centre of the estate, steeped in years of history and oozing understated elegance. Boconnoc House won the Sotheby’s award for restoration in 2012 and sleeps up to nineteen, making it the perfect place for friends and family to come together and enjoy quality time within the stately yet peaceful grounds. Her equally beautiful little sister, The Stewardry, is also perfect for large groups, sleeping fourteen and set next to a stream often frequented by deer, completely immersed in tranquillity.
