A secluded haven away from the crowds

Tucked away down two miles of private driveway you will find the Boconnoc Estate; a tranquil hidden away sanctuary surrounded by rolling countryside and an abundance of wildlife. Experience a restorative stay with us; embrace the peace and quiet, join weekly meditation, yoga and fitness sessions and explore the grounds with endless walks and tracks.

This year’s lockdown has seen our business, like many others, adapting to the changing landscape and discovering ways to offer something new and distinctive. We are well-known as a wedding and retreat venue and for our beautiful landscapes and inspiring spaces but with weddings and events postponed, and having in the last year launched our online accommodation booking system, guests can now book holidays and breaks on the estate and experience this secluded haven away from crowds in this truly magical pocket of Cornwall.

This week we have released bookings for Autumn stays in September and October in the Groom’s House (sleeps six), the Head Groom’s House (sleeps four), the Dairy House (sleeps eight) and also Boconnoc House which is the main house on the estate which sleeps 18 guests. The two cottages are situated in or around the Sir John Soane inspired Stable Yard each with contemporary interiors by interior designer Sarah Fortescue of the Fortescue family who own the estate. A short walk from there you will find the jewel in the crown; Boconnoc House, with its stately yet homely vibe it is the perfect rental for those looking to escape, recover and reconnect. We are already booked out for the summer season, but have just released these autumn dates due to changes in event bookings, allowing us to be able to open up the opportunity to stay in one of these beautiful properties on the estate.

Boconnoc stays are perfect for those wanting to escape the hum drum of everyday hectic life, an interlude where you can find the time to appreciate the simple, embrace the breathing space and cherish the postponement on all that are insignificant. For those who are still tentative about venturing out, the estate has plenty to occupy your needs so that you barely need to leave and can easily socially distance. From weekly outdoor meditation, yoga and fitness sessions, to distillery tours, sundowners and pre-prepared picnics. We even have an onsite kitchen garden which you are encouraged to use on a pick and pay system, or we can provide you with a produce box ready for your arrival. The estate is home to miles and miles of running and cycling tracks, we can provide you with maps of the best routes to take, as well as suitable walks which take in the spectacular scenery, historical features and wildlife. The kids will love the games room in the stable yard, as well as collecting eggs from the resident chickens for their breakfast and picking produce from the garden. Take a look at our Things to Do page for more information. Also take advantage of our recommended list of local suppliers, some who will deliver to your door and others only a few miles away; think local butchers, fantastic locally caught fresh fish, bakeries, Cornish artisan gin, produce and much more.
